Humans have about 20 billion neurons in the cerebral cortex (what transmits information in the brain). Cats have about 300 million. Dogs have about 160 million. Are cats smarter than dogs??

Dogs that are more likely to pass their Leader Dog test are right-pawed and have counter-clockwise swirls of hair.

Almost all French Bulldogs are artificially inseminated, and born by Caesarean. Due to their short legs and narrow pelvis French Bulldogs are not able to conceive or give birth naturally.

The Great Pyrenees has two dew claws on each front leg. This is because it has traditionally been bred to climb mountains to herd goats and needed the extra support!

Dogs have 42 teeth and cats have 30. Both puppies and kittens lose their baby teeth by the time they are 6 months old.

When dogs hesitate before going outside into the rain it’s not necessarily because they are afraid of getting wet; the rain amplifies sound and with their excellent hearing this can be bothersome to their ears.
